For as long as I can remember I have always admired an elegant woman. It is something about the way that she walks, the way that she talks, the way that she commands a room when she walks in it. Being elegant is an art within itself, it is achieving the authenticity in womanhood. Many believe a classy woman is affiliate with money and I could not have disagreed more. It is not the “what” that makes a woman elegant, it is the “how”. It is the effort that she puts in every aspect of her life to build that attractive flair. Here are a few fundamental elements I believe bring the elegance out of a woman.
Style: A woman’s style is a silent way of communicating to the people around her. It is a representation of herself in the best way possible. Because of all this how a woman treats her skin, her hair, her nails, her teeth breathe self- love. More than her appearance, the woman's body is an ultra sophisticated machine that shelters her spirit and her survivability, so her health is as equally important. A woman's clothing reflects her taste which is often refine by putting considerable thoughts in them. The best dressed woman is not necessarily the one with expensive taste and unlimited wardrobe at her disposal. It is more a woman who curates her collection selectively. She knows how to combine the simplest outfit and accessorize with the perfect color. She is able to transform an office look to an evening wear by simply removing a blazer or adding some pearls. So by all means, be immaculate in your self-presentation.
Grace: A woman with great mannerism is an increase in her elegance. She has more than style to show, she has grace. Her goal is to make everyone comfortable in her presence so she is humble, respectable and non-intrusive throughout her conversation with others. She responds to people with great compassion and kindness. She displays full control over her emotions even in the most intense situation. She restrains her tongue not out of fear of standing up for herself, but out of consideration for her surroundings. She can still stand her ground and express herself without having to make a fuss. Manner communicate the beauty of a beautiful soul.
Intellectual: A classy woman is constantly educating herself, it does not matter her age or her financial situation. She will take a part time course online or attend a community college .. better yet she will make trips to her local library and indulge herself in reading. You see she understands the complexity of this shifting world requires a high degree of intellectual literacy and critical-thinking skills. It is through an education that she gains a sense of moral and ethical responsibility in her community. That education is more than just learning facts in a text book, it is the ability to reason clearly, to think rationally, to analyze information intelligently. The knowledge she acquires helps expand her horizon, challenges her perspectives and acquires ways to defend her view point.
Spirituality: It takes elegance of the soul to reflect the outer appearance of an elegant woman. The style, the grace, the intellectual a woman seek all starts with the tranquility and peace of mind she gained from being in tune with her spiritual being. A woman spiritual journey defines her purpose, when she walks in alignment with a higher power it helps her stay grounded. A connection with the divine power rewire one’s brain to more positivity. Being elegant in the outer appearance doesn’t immune a woman from every day’s struggle but cultivating a relationship with the highest power help tackle those difficult moments that are inevitable in this world. Whether it’s through prayer, hymn, meditation or reading seek the nutrition that feeds your spirit and nourish your soul. I found the Lord and he has taught me in the most eloquent way to be still and know that he is God and through that I have learned a sense of stillness that evokes an appearance of a femme d’elegance.
