As a wife and mother of four boys, I am always trying to find tips on how to feed my family and how to make it cost efficiency for our budget. I have learned a few tricks and I would love to share.
Plan Meals
Every week I would make a list of the things I would cook for the week. Monday is pasta night so spaghetti, Prego sauce and ground beef. Throw in some salad and bread stick and we have a full coarse meal. Tuesday is Rice, Beans and Chicken, and so on.
Make Grocery List
After I have my plan meals for the week, I will make the list of the ingredients that I need to cook them each day. Breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner for the week are all in a budget list at hand.
Grocery Allowance
I have a budget on how much I will spend for the week. Furthermore I use cash only to stop myself from going over the budget. If it’s not on the list, I won’t get it.
Coupons
I am not one of those extreme coupon mom but I know not to miss out on great deal. Often my meal plan for the week may simply be based on sale items from my local grocery stores. I love buy one get one free, usually that mean I can duplicate my previous week plan meals.
Grow a Garden
This is a suggestion that I have not been able to go through yet. Once I get past my fear of Florida black snake, which I have been told protect garden from destructive pest, I will continue growing healthy vegetables in my yard. That will save an abundant amount of money so I am throwing it out there for you
